surprises

I like surprises. Like, unannounced visits, a card in the mail, a short but sweet email, or a phone call to say, "I miss you." Oh! Or a random text from someone you haven't heard from in forever.

I like surprises from God even more. Those little ways of reminding me that He's still around. He's around in the craziness of a first grade classroom, a relentless schedule, and too few moments of shut eye.

This week He's surprised me in several ways. Although, neither of the ways were tangible...I just felt them. Love that.

This week I'm claiming joy. Even in the things that seem mundane. I think if I can find joy in the mundane, well, then I can find it anywhere.
