Valentine's Day

This Valentine's Day me and Green Room Ladies were determined to not sit at home alone. So, Lana, Sara, Lauren, and I decided to do a girl's weekend at my house. We made food, we laughed, planned a bible study, watched girl movies...it was good times.

Then we got a text: "We need a dress!!!"

What kind of dress you ask? Well, a wedding dress. Our church had planned on doing a skit for Sunday's service. However, there was not a dress. We had no clue as to where to get this dress...so we were left with calling thrift store...after thrift store...after thrift store. We find one in Farmville that has an array of wedding gowns (who knew!)

Before we found this thrift store we called many others. One call went something like this:

"Hi, this is a random question but do you guys have wedding gowns?"~Us
"Uh, yes...we do?"~Lady at thrift store
"Okay...we are looking for about a size ten. Got that?"~Us
"I think so, hold on..."~Lady at thrift store
((We hold....we wait...))
"Yes, well...it looks to be about a size ten...it's homemade"~Lady at thrift store
((Pause to think...))
"Okay..can you hold it for us?"~Us
"Um...no. We can't hold items. But trust me...it ain't going anywhere."~Lady at thrift store
((Pause for laughter))

Well, we decided to head out to Farmville (aka FarmVEGAS) to a thrift store there. Now, these two girls working in there were FABULOUS! They stayed open late for us, and while they were waiting for us they pulled every wedding dress out that they had.

Sara began trying on every ugly dress there was. We began laughing so hard at times that we couldn't catch our breath. Some of this laughter was because of the UGLY dresses she tried on, and some of it was because we couldn't believe that we were in a dingy bathroom trying on wedding gowns on Valentine's Day. Classic.

We find the dress. Fits perfect. Makes us laugh.

Gas to get to FarmVEGAS: $10.00
Wedding Gown circa 1994: $75.00
Multiple text messages sent/received: 10 cents each
Creating memories with friends on Valentine's Day: Priceless

I heart my life. I heart my church. I heart the girls that do things like this.

Trust me, God has a sense of humor. :)
